A Kimball Holiday 

Mission
A Kimball Holiday provides an opportunity to celebrate civic pride and bring residents, family and friends together during the holidays, strengthening their sense of community. A Kimball Holiday also attracts regional participation and contributes to the economic growth of National City and the downtown redevelopment.

Description
This annual signature event held in December of every year is located in Kimball Park which is in the center of the city. This one-day event in its 15th year and has an anticipated attendance of over 5,000. The activities provide a full day of family fun and consist of a tree lighting ceremony, snow hill, arts & crafts, youth activities, car show, reindeer dash (one mile of fun run/walk), community performances, music, food and more.

• Increase regional participation at National City events.
• Celebrate the community diversity.
• Provide an opportunity for community groups to perform.
• Encourage healthy living with free, outdoor activities.
• Cerebrate an enjoyable, entertaining, low-cost, safe wholesome holiday event for children, families and members of the community.

Miss National City Educational Pageant 

Mission

The Miss National City Educational Pageant's mission is to provide scholarship awards through a competitive system that allows the contestants to develop skills that will further enhance their educational and career opportunities. The pageant contestants and winners are encouraged to serve as positive role models through personal development, service and volunteerism in their community. The Miss National City Educational Pageant provides young adults with the opportunity to become self-empowered, and confident young professionals. The Miss National City Educational Pageant is a family friendly event that empowers future generations of National City residents.

Goals

• Provide the Miss National City court with a significant monetary scholarship to be used to further their education.
• Develop young adults who will be a service to their community, relatable to people of all ages, and a good role model.
• Give the young adults interview skills, and public speaking skills that will further their professional career.
