The Successor Agency to the Community Development Commission as the National City Redevelopment Agency (Successor Agency) was established due to the state of California law eliminating redevelopment throughout the state in February 2012. The redevelopment “Dissolution Act”, Assembly Bill X1 26, required the establishment of successor agencies to wind down the remaining business of redevelopment agencies.  AB 26 required that each successor agency have an oversight board (“Oversight Board”).  As of June 21, 2018 regular meeting of the Oversight Board to the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of National City were cancelled. The Countywide Redevelopment Successor Agency Oversight Board began regular meetings on July 1, 2018.
