UPDATE:  NEW PARKING PORTAL AS OF SEPTEMBER 5, 2023

If you currently have a permit through our old IPS parking permit portal, please continue to utilize this permit.  Please note, you will need to create a new account in the new parking permit portal to renew or purchase new permits (see link below).

Parking Permits in a Residential Parking District Zone

In many residential areas of the City of National City, a Residential Parking District (RPD) exists to help ensure that on-street parking is available to local residents. The RPD on-street parking is prohibited for vehicles that do not have a valid parking permit. The RPD is authorized by Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code and Title 11 of the City of National City Municipal Code.

If you live in a home within a residential parking district, you are eligible to apply for an RPD (Residential Parking District) Map. The application can be completed and submitted online.

Online: Visit https://NationalCity.permitinfo.net/, register for a new account, and upload your supporting documents.  Allow 2 or 3 business days for processing. You will receive an email confirmation upon approval.

Please note that you must have a valid email address in order to create an account.

The Engineering Department has made available to the public a computer kiosk located at the Engineering Department counter that provides access to the Parking Portal. It should be noted that if you would like to use the computer kiosk to purchase a parking permit, you would need to come with the supporting documentation described below.

If you have a physical parking permit, please continue to use it until it expires.

If you have applied, paid, and receive the approval for a digital parking permit through the Parking Permit Portal, you do not need to display it on the vehicle dashboard. The permit will be associated with a specific license plate number. The Parking Regulation Officers will use the license plate number in order to determine if the vehicle parked in the RPD area has a valid permit.

Important! Starting September 1, 2020, all of the new parking permits will be available online only. After September 1, 2020, If you have a physical parking permit, you can continue to use it until it expires. After the permit expires, you can only purchase the permit online.
