Group Exercise - Deep Water
This water aerobics class takes place in deep water and provides a full body workout. Through use of a flotation belt participants can increase their range of motion and perform no-impact exercises. Flotation devices are provided. No registration required; just show up ready to get in the water. Ages: 18+ |
Lap Swimming - Long Course
Enjoy the freedom to exercise at your own pace in a 50-meter pool. Lap swimming tones muscles and improves overall health and fitness. By engaging several muscle groups and the cardiovascular system, swimming can provide an excellent work out for a wide variety of individuals. Ages 18+. Swimmers under the age of 18 must successfully pass a swim test to utilize lap lanes. |

Swim Lessons
Youth and adults can learn to swim at their own pace in a safe and comfortable environment. Swim lessons are taught by experienced, knowledgeable and caring instructors, who help swimmers at every level feel comfortable in the water and progress to the next level. Lessons are tailored to the needs of each participant. Group lessons and private lessons are available. Children can begin swimming lessons as early as 6 months, and it is never too late for adults to learn! |
Lessons
Increase you or your child's confidence in the water and sign up for swim lessons taught by our very own experienced staff! We offer group swim lessons for all ability levels; classes are held on Saturdays for children ages 6 months through adults. Register online or in person at Las Palmas Pool during hours of operation. Payment is due at the time of registration; there are no refunds unless the class is cancelled due to low enrollment or unsafe weather conditions.

Private Swim Lessons
Private lessons are available for open registration and runs during the same time frame as our group swim lessons. Private lessons requested outside our usual swim lesson hours will be added to our private lesson waitlist and scheduled as soon as possible based on staff availability, facility schedule and available pool space during the requested times. Cancellations must be made at lease 24 hours in advance or the lesson will be lost. Make-up lesson will be scheduled as soon as possible. |

Las Palmas Pool is available at a preferred rate for residents of National City. |
Photo I.D. and completion of aregistration formis required prior to participation. |
All patrons under the age of 14 must have direct parent/guardian supervision by someone over the age of 18. |
Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied in the water by a parent within arm’s reach at all times or in a coast guard approved flotation device. Children wearing coast guard approved flotation devices must have a parent directly supervising them at all times. |
For your safety, all patrons under the age of 18, will be required to complete a swim test* in order to swim in the deep end. Any patron under the age of 18 who cannot successfully complete the swim test will be required to provide a coast guard approved life jacket if they wish to swim in the deep end. The swim test will consist of the following: 20 meter swim without stopping 1 minute of treading water without stopping |
Youth ages 14-17 must complete a swim test and Youth Swim orientation/agreement*. |
Disposable swim diapers and plastic pants are required for children under the age of 3 or those who are not toilet trained. |
Please wear appropriate swim attire. Street clothes are not permitted. |
Water toys including balls, noodles, etc. are not permitted in the pool. |
For your safety, prolonged breath holding and hypoxic training are not permitted at Las Palmas Pool. |
Lap Lanes are reserved for lap swimming only. During busy hours, sharing lanes and circle swimming will be required. |
Only US Coast Guard approved flotation devices are permitted in the pool. |
Families must provide proof of age upon registration for Las Palmas Pool programs. |
All patrons must shower prior to using the pools. This helps keep the pools clean for everyone. |
The Las Palmas Pool is a family friendly facility. The following are prohibited on Las Palmas Pool property: diving, dangerous jumps, roughhousing, glass of any kind, alcohol, animals (unless service-certified), skateboards, profanity, and/or excessive displays of public affection. |
Please respect our pool equipment and ensure it is used properly and put away after use. |
The lifeguards are here for your safety and have the final authority. Failure to abide by the Las Palmas Pool policies may result in removal from the pool. |
Food is only permitted in designated areas and is not permitted in the water. |
For your safety and the safety of others, any patron believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave the Las Palmas Pool property. |
Kickboards and pull buoys are for lap swim only. |
Children ages 5 and older must use their gender specific locker rooms to change. A family changing room is located on the pool deck for your convenience. |
Please report any suspicious activity or patrons immediately to a Las Palmas Pool staff member. |
The water slide may only be used under direct supervision from a Las Palmas Pool staff member. Slide riders must abide by the following requirements: All riders must be at least 48 inches tall Slide down feet first on your back Goggles, bathing suits with rivets and life jackets are not permitted on the slide Standing, spinning or other dangerous behavior will not be tolerated. |

What are the ages for the Learn to Swim classes? | Learn to Swim classes are for ages 6 months through adult. |

What is your GEX Aqua Class, Lap Swim and Recreational Swim Schedule? | The current swim schedule is posted on the City's webpage and includes GEX Aqua Classes, Lap Swim and Recreational Swim programs. |
Will you be expanding your Lap Swim schedule? | Our schedule will expand over time. Our current schedule is set until May 31. |
Do you provide swim equipment? | We will provide kickboards and buoys for Lap Swim and dumbbells, barbells and belts for GEX Aqua Classes. |
Are you planning any evening GEX Aqua classes? | Not at this time, our current schedule is set until May 31. |
Will the diving boards be available for public use? | In time, we will offer opportunities to use the diving boards. However, they will not be available during our spring schedule. |
Do you have lockers? | Beginning in late March we will have lockers to accommodate wallets, keys, cell phones and other small valuables. Please bring your own lock. |
How do I register to participate in programs at the pool? | When you arrive we will ask that you present identification for proof of residency in National City for you and your children. This is to receive the resident pool rate. Non-residents may use the pool but at different rate. You will then complete a registration form or you can save time by registering on line and when you arrive you will be asked to show proof of residency and pay applicable user fees. |

Will there be lifeguards for Lap Swim and Recreational Swim? | Red Cross Certified lifeguards will be on duty for all schedule programs. |
What should I bring? | Don't forget to bring your ID, towel, lock and sunscreen. |

All sales are final, no refunds will be issued for programs, daily visits, or pool passes.
