We work closely with American Medical Response (AMR), a private ambulance company, to provide basic and advanced life support services.  We started a Paramedic Program on January 3, 2007, which upgraded training from Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level to Paramedic (EMT-P).  Now, when we typically arrive on scene first, we can start providing basic and advanced life support services before AMR ambulances arrive.  When AMR ambulances arrive, we assist ambulance crews to provide quality care to the patient.  In most instances, we will provide a Paramedic on all our units i.e. Engine 34, Engine 31, Truck 34, and Squad 33.
