National City is working to increase mobility and safety around the city with additional bike facilities.

Bikeway Facility Classifications:

Class I (Bike Path): A multi-use path used by pedestrians and bicyclists separated from vehicle lanes.

Class II (Bike Lane): A designated lane marked by pavement striping for bicycle right-of-way use.

Class III (Bike Route): A travel lane shared by both vehicles and bicycles.

Class IV (Separated Bikeway): A designated lane marked by pavement striping and a vertical barrier separating vehicle and bicycle lanes.
