The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed in 1990 as a step towards the disestablishment of discrimination against individuals with disabilities. ADA Title II requires that a public entity provide equal access to all of its public programs, services, facilities, and activities for citizens with disabilities. 

The ADA Transition Plan establishes the City of National City’s ongoing commitment as an all-inclusive community to providing equal access for all, including those with disabilities. In developing this plan, the City of National City has undertaken a comprehensive evaluation of its right-of-way facilities and programs to determine what types of access barriers exist for individuals with disabilities. This plan will be used to help guide future planning and implementation of necessary accessibility improvements.

ADA Grievance Form

The users of City facilities and services may also file a grievance if they believe the City has not provided reasonable accommodation.

Under the grievance procedures, a formal complaint must be filed within 90 calendar days of the alleged occurrence. Please click here to download the Grievance Form.
