2009 NCPD & STAR/PAL Padres Rookie Camp.

STAR/PAL stands for Sports, Training, Academics and Recreational/Police Athletic League. STAR/PAL is a non-profit organization providing free youth programs and positive interaction with committed volunteers that include law enforcement officers and firefighters. On May 19 & 20, 2009, School Resource Officers (SRO's) from the National City Police Department will join with STAR/PAL and the San Diegto Padres to host a free 2 day "Padres Rookie Camp" for the first 60 children (ages 6-12) who sign up. On the first day of camp, the selected children will participate in several fundamental baseball drills. On the second day, the selected children will be invited to attend a free Padres game. Selected children will receive a Padres baseball cap and T-shirt.
This event is open to the first 60 boys or girls who sign up on a first come, first serve basis. To sign up, the interested child's parent/guardian must call STAR/PAL at (619) 531-2718 AND fax the ATTACHED WAIVER - download here (PDF) completed and signed by a parent or guardian to STAR/PAL at (619) 531-2782 before May 15, 2009.
