This is a good time to gather those prescription drugs which are not being used either at your house or a family or friends house and dispose of them in an environmentally safe manner.   

It is very important to dispose of these drugs for a variety of reasons.   A 2012 survey by SANDAG of adult arrestees showed that 38 percent admitted to taking a prescription drug without a medical necessity, while 40 percent of juveniles admitted to taking a prescription drug without a medical necessity.
