Taste of National City is Back -Ready, Set, Taste!
National City, CA (May 6, 2010)–The Taste of National City is back, marking its 19th year in National City. The Annual Taste of National City will be held on Thursday, May 6th, 2010 from 4pm- 7pm at Heritage Square (“A” Ave. and 9th Street).
At the “Taste,” local restaurants offer an array of multicultural food set to the tune of a live Latin jazz band, Afro Mestizo, and Sweetwater High School Mariachi. Entertainment will include the south bay Bailet Folkloriko, art exhibits, and attractive raffle prizes. FREE open houses will be held at Brick Row and the Kimball House Museum by the National City Historical Society.
Participating restaurants include the 2009 Best of National City Award Winner, Birrias Chivos and Cheves, Applebee’s, Buster’s Beach House Marina Gateway, Casa Del Taco, Chow King, Conching’s Café, El Pollo Loco, George’s Wonderful World of Cakes, South Bay Fish and Grill, Karina’s Mexican Seafood, Living Room Café, Manila Sunset, El Juan Café, Ethnic Deli Café, Papa John’s Pizza, and San Diego Pretzel Company.
You can expect to delight in authentic tastes from Mexico, the Philippines, American cuisine, Café style, barbeque, local bakeries, and more. The program will begin with a formal address by the honorable Mayor Ron Morrison.
Discounted rates available for senior citizens (55 and older), students, military, and City employees– only $10. Presale tickets are on sale for $20 before May 6, 2010. $25 general admission day of event.
